- who’s running your soul?
- the natural man of the faith man?
- what is our soul? (the psyche, in Greek NT the word psychology, is the scientific study of the human mind and its behavior )
- your mind, your will and your emotions
- mind: Psalms 13:2 – “how long shall I take counsel in my soul”
- will: Proverbs 21:10 – “the soul of the wicked desires evil”
- emotions: Matthew 26:38 – Jesus said, “my soul is exceedingly sorrowful”
- it is the connection between your spirit and your body
- 1 Thessalonians 5:23 – your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless
- we are triune beings
- our common problem: the natural (carnal) mind is an enemy to the faith mind
- Romans 8:6-7 – (New American Standard Bible)
- the mind set on the flesh is death
- the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, (which in the NT is the law of faith.)
- 1 Corinthians 2:14 – the natural man does not accept the things of the spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
- do you have those old man eating disorders and need a fast?
- eats everything in sight then gets sick? (thinks he/she can eat anything and stay spiritual)
- eats anything then throws up to stay slim? (thinks he/she can eat anything and then resist all the bad seed that has been planted?)
- eats only junk food, or a total starvation diet? (no word of God?)
- God wants to change your diet
- God wants that diet change to begin with a soul fast
- God wants a total fast of your old-man thinking
- God wants you to live a fasted life, always fasting old-man thinking
- why? Romans 8:13 – through the spirit we mortify the deeds of the body
- God wants you to start eating a proper spiritual diet – Isaiah. 55:1-3
- be renewed in the spirit of your mind by putting on the newman. – Ephesians 4:23-24
